Hello Twine backers,

We’ve got quite a collection of new things for you in our latest Twine update. To start it off, we did a bit of wireless range testing to optimize the wireless antenna position and case enclosure material. (RF design and material compatibility can be tricky — think iPhone…

I wonder if these folks will figure out how to make a Wi-Fi radio sleepy enough for 2x AAAs to last a month.

I’ve been hearing a lot of talk of reasonably priced bulbs coming this year and next. I hope that’s the case, I’m ready and waiting.

Updated the threshold into my bedroom over the weekend. I fabricated this from a 29” x 10” piece of 3/4” Red Oak. I first had to reduce the thickness to 5/8”, which without a planer was time consuming. I used the router table to remove the material one pass at a time. I could have used the dado set and probably should have. I used the router table to add a 3/8” roundover to the bedroom side. The floor is uneven where the two rooms meet so I had to dado out a void so the piece would fit flush. I also had to take the door off and sand off a 1/8” in the corner so it would all fit together nicely. Lastly, I finished it with 2 coats of Poly/Stain finish and a final coat of satin finish poly.
